Taken from City Weekly
"Babylon Down is a local reggae music collective that consistently pumps out dance-hall hits and packs the floors. On Monday nights, Babylon Down rocks The Woodshed (60 E. 800 South) to a crowd of Family Home Evening attendees interested in more diverse hymns. All the traditional hits from the Marleys and some more recent burners are played for the most diverse crowd we’ve seen in a while. If you want a slice of Jamaica in Salt Lake City, find it at the “Shed.”

Even though it's been a while since we last hosted "Catch A Vibe" Mondays at Bar Deluxe, we still got an honorable mention in this years City Weekly's best of 2011 Nightlife.
"Best Irie Spot on State Street
Bar Deluxe & Babylon Down Sound System
We miss the Catch a Vibe sessions that once dominated Monday nights courtesy of the Babylon Down Sound System crew, but Bar Deluxe hasn't abandoned reggae. Instead, concert-goers can get an irie vibe going several times a month, through live shows and DJ showcases, alongside touring national bands and local indie-rock talent that makes Bar Deluxe a vital part of the Salt Lake City music scene. 668 S. First off, Happy New Year to all massive & crew! Second, thanks to all fans, promoters, venues, DJ's, bands & artists for supporting Babylon Down for the last 9 years & making it possible to do what we love doing the most.
2010 was another year with many great reggae shows & performances, we hosted a variety of shows including reggae acts like Dubtonic Kru, The Mighty Diamonds, Johnny Kool, Dread Daze, Soul Medic, Rebel Empire, Mystic Roots, and The Melodians with Frankie Paul (who sadly had to be rushed to the emergency room the night of the show), regular bashes and last but not least SLC's first ever "45 Cup Clash".
Besides hosting shows we also took part in The Inter City Sound Clash against Easy B, winning the home game but losing the away game, which leaves a tie in the battle between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles… until we meet again for the last round on neutral grounds; maybe in Vegas?! We also enjoyed the opportunity to play opening sets for Anthony B, Bajie, New Kingston Band, Richie Spice, Marciah Griffiths and Alborosie.
We hosted resident nights, "Catch a Vibe Mondays" here in Salt Lake and "Bass Culture" on Saturdays during the summer months up in Park City and are looking forward to introducing Salt Lake to new party concept soon. We were also honored to play the last reggae show of the year on New Years Eve with long time local reggae veterans Afro Omega.
In May we started hosting the "Riddim Lab", a weekly live video stream, featuring the latest & greatest reggae/dancehall selections, we've aired 33 episodes & counting, as we'll be hosting the show in 2011 as well. The show has featured live interviews, guest performances, album & tickets give aways and updates on the local reggae scene !
The year is starting off strong as international reggae star Anthony B will be in town on January 26th, Babylon Down will be present providing early sounds and vibes… see you there!
